Aria Shirley

JEFFERSON, Texas -- Aria Pauline Shirley, 95, of Jefferson departed this life Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Linden Health Care in Linden, Texas.

She was born May 8, 1921, in Patton, Missouri, daughter of Elmer L. and Bessie Mae Heitman Kaiser. She and Paul Shirley were united in marriage Aug. 4, 1943, and he passed away Oct. 14, 2007.

She was a homemaker and of the United Methodist faith.

Survivors include her sons, Peter (Judy) Shirley of Mountain View, Arkansas, Patrick Shirley of Castro Valley, California, and Paul (Beverly) Shirley of Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Pam (Larry) Capps of Jefferson and Phyllis (Norbert) Angell of Shawnee, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Keith Kaiser and G. W. Kaiser; and a granddaughter, Bess Shirley.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Patton Cemetery in Patton.
