ADVANCE, Mo. — David S. Harris, 82, of Advance passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home.

He was born Sept. 8, 1934, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Charles and Audra Bess Harris.

David had worked for the Craftsman Union Carpenters. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Advance. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a volunteer for Mingo Wildlife Refuge. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors and liked taking long country drives. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He adored his grandchildren.

David and Billie Mae Sims were united in marriage Aug. 2, 1958. She preceded him in death July 24, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy (Jimmy) Bone`e of Advance; a brother, Robert Harris of New Mexico; and two grandchildren, Ciara Harris of Jackson and Jacob Bone`e of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Harold Harris.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, with full military rites.
