A Marble Hill, Missouri, man delivered two and a half pounds of meth to St. Charles County, Missouri, while a woman who lived with him helped, police said.

The Bollinger County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Bradley J. Brown, 37, and Christy L. McCoy, 39, with second-degree drug-trafficking and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police working with the SEMO Drug Task Force knew Brown had four prior felony drug offenses and had received information indicating Brown dealt "in pound quantities of methamphetamine," according to a probable-cause statement filed in the case by Bollinger County Sheriff's deputy Darren Bullard.

On March 26, police surveilled Brown's residence in the 400 block of Opossum Creek Road, where officers saw Brown loading something in the engine compartment of a blue passenger vehicle under the hood before driving away in the car shortly after 5:45 p.m., Bullard wrote.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., officers learned police in St. Charles County had arrested Brown in the blue vehicle and recovered two and a half pounds of meth from under its hood, Bullard wrote.

Around 1:30 a.m. Monday, police obtained a warrant and searched Brown's Marble Hill home, finding McCoy and a juvenile inside, according to the statement.

In a safe in the master bedroom, police found two bags of methamphetamine weighing 75.4 grams combined, as well as two glass pipes with meth residue and plastic baggies, according to the statement.

In another bedroom, police discovered various drug paraphernalia, including syringes, scales, pipes and other items, as well as four-tenths of a gram of meth, Bullard wrote.

Cellphones recovered from the scene contained text messages "that implicated McCoy in the distribution of methamphetamine," Bullard wrote.

Second-degree drug-trafficking is a class C felony. Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia is a class D misdemeanor.
