SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Alfred H. Pohlman, 80, of Sedgewickville died Monday, May 8, 2017, at his home.

He was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Hilderbrand, Missouri, son of Henry Pohlman and Amelia Dambach Pohlman Statler. He and Dorothy Cox were married June 30, 1962. She survives in Sedgewickville.

He had been a machine operator for Ceramo in Jackson. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Missouri. He was an U.S. Army veteran.

Other survivors include four sons, David (Sarah) Pohlman of Sedgewickville, Michael (Kim) Pohlman of Jackson, and Larry Pohlman and Tim Pohlman, both of Sedgewickville; one daughter, Laura (Paul) Kontomook of Perryville; one stepbrother, Harold Statler of Peru, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Florence Statler; one daughter-in-law, Belinda; one granddaughter, Brittani; four brothers, Alvin, William, Edward and Edwin Pohlman; one stepbrother, Gerald Statler; and two stepsisters, Dorothy Merk and Wilma Mileham.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

He then will be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran church or school or Saint Francis Hospice.
