Margaret Rose Pfeiffer, 88, of Gordonville died Sunday, July 2, 2017, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 31, 1929, in Hinsdale, Illinois, to Paul and Flora Bodenschatz Petschke. She and Harold Edgar Pfeiffer were married Nov. 26, 1949. He died Feb. 12, 2010.

Margaret graduated from Downers Grove High School in Downers Grove, Illinois.

She retired from Woolworth's Department Store in Cape Girardeau, where she had been a sales clerk.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

She was an avid knitter and quilter and loved her flowers, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Collier of Gordonville and Nancy (Mike) Cracraft of Jackson; a son, Jerry (Abby) Pfeiffer of Pacific Groves, California; a brother, Jim (Joan) Petschke of Downers Grove; two sisters, Joyce (Robert) Thomas of Uniontown, Missouri, and Edith (Ervin) Uhl of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Cracraft, Ashley Cracraft (Eric Hill), Neil (Lori) Collier, Gabe (Lisa) Pfeiffer and Nick Pfeiffer; and nine great-grandchildren, Allie, Lexi, William, Beckett, Hollis, Colden, Brody, Sydney and Rocky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Stanley Pfeiffer; a son-in-law, Mark Collier; and a brother, Kenneth Petschke.

Friends may call from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Private burial will be Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
