Larry Wayne Huffman, 64, of Cape Girardeau, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 7, 2017, while fishing at Kinkaid Lake.

He was born April 29, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to the late Leonard and Jeri (Boos) Huffman.

Larry and Robin Tankersley were married June 25, 1977, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

He worked for Interior Plus in Scott City for many years. His biggest pride and joy was his granddaughter, Hadley Grace. Pawpaw and Gigi's happiest of times were spent playing and going on adventures with Hadley. Larry was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Robin, of Cape Girardeau; siblings, Jeannie (Charlie) Floyd of Leopold, Missouri, and Willard (Cindy) Huffman of Whitewater; son, Shannon (Bridget) Huffman and their daughter, Hadley, of Wright City, Missouri; grand-dog, Henry; in-laws, Joan and Larry Quinn of Cape Girardeau and Bill and Judy Tankersley of Delta; brothers-in-law, Matt (Staci) Quinn and their son, Tristan, of Cape Girardeau and Patrick (Tammy) Tankersley of Jackson; nephews, Tyler (Jess) Tankersley and their children, Henry, Owen and Charlotte and Caleb (Richie) Tankersley; niece, Whitney (Matt) Miller and their daughter, Sydney; and two of the best fishing buddies a guy could ever have, Brad Thompson of Crump and Ed Fluchel of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Bailey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Patrick and Tyler Tankerlsey officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri or Cast for Kids at castforkids.org.
