Audrey L. Richter, 81, of Jackson, formerly of New Wells, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born June 8, 1936, in St. Louis, daughter of Earl L. and Marie Johnson Heider. She and Raymond W. Richter were married April 20, 1963.
Audrey was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. She and Raymond owned and operated the New Wells Mercantile Store for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning, crocheting and her family.
Loving survivors include her husband of 54 years, Raymond, of New Wells; a daughter, Saundra Richter and a son, Matthew (Amy) Richter, of Jackson; four grandchildren, Aundrea Gonzaque of St. Louis, Austin Gonzaque of the United States Army and Jake and Riley Richter of Jackson; a brother; much more family; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Paul Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
