C. Marlena Pind, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Southeast Hospital, with family by her side.

She was born Jan. 23, 1944, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Roger and Nadine Schwab Brooks. She and Jerry Pind were married July 6, 1974, in Cape Girardeau.

Marlena was a lifelong member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of PEO Chapter GF, an artist, an excellent cook, an aspiring golfer and a gardener.

She was known for her deep love and unwavering devotion to her family, unfailing commitment to her friends and her bright and cheerful outlook on life.

Loving survivors include her husband of 44 years, Jerry Pind of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Kimberly (Stephen) Richardson of Pleasanton, California; half brother, Roger Brooks of Texas; grandchildren, Jack, Sam and Will Richardson of California; sister-in-law, Judy Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Bob Herbst; and brother-in-law, Mike (Janelle) Pind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Dennis Brown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Private funeral and burial will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, 235 Broadway, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
