SARASOTA, Fla. — Earl Frank Horton, 96, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, in Sarasota. He was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Cape Girardeau. He attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He was known as Frank to all of his friends and customers in Cape Girardeau and the surrounding area. He owned Horton Sales Co. for many years before retiring to Florida...

SARASOTA, Fla. — Earl Frank Horton, 96, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, in Sarasota.

He was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Cape Girardeau.

He attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University.

He was known as Frank to all of his friends and customers in Cape Girardeau and the surrounding area. He owned Horton Sales Co. for many years before retiring to Florida.

Frank was married to Marguerite “Maggie” Ellis, until her death in 1993.

He was proud of the fact he was a 32nd-degree Mason.

Frank is survived by his son, Wayne (Ann) Horton; granddaughter, Amy (Scot) Quesenberry; grandson, David Horton; four great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and two great-great-grandsons.

His grandson, Jeffrey Horton, predeceased him.

His remains will be buried next to his beloved wife in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
