FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The Rev. David Verdell Jackson, 60, of Farmington entered into rest on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at his residence.

He was born June 28, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, son of the Rev. Verdell and Freda Mae Stevens Jackson. He and Marcia Collins were married Dec. 18, 1976.

Jackson was an ordained minister for the United Pentecostal Church International for more than 34 years. He served the United Pentecostal Church in Marble Hill, Missouri, for 16 1/2 years, and The First Pentecostal Church in Hohenwald, Tennessee, for 6 1/2 years. He also served the World Evangelism Center in Hazelwood, Missouri, as the executive administrative assistant to the general superintendent, and was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse in Farmington.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia Jackson; daughters, Dr. Jill (Matt) Coomer of Dothan, Alabama, and Erica (the Rev. Nathaniel) Molter of Farmington; brother, the Rev. T.M. (Sue) Jackson of Branson, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Alex Coomer, James Jackson Molter and Callie Coomer.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 581 Broadridge Drive in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Ronnie Brown and Nathaniel Molter officiating. Burial will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
