Susan Jean Denise Ginther, 69, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born April 4, 1948, in Cape Girardeau to the late Col. Charles E. and Eileen (Caldwell) Woodford. Susan was a very kind and generous person. She enjoyed a lifelong love of travel, cooking, gardening and sewing. Susan Jean Denise Ginther, 69, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

She was born April 4, 1948, in Cape Girardeau to the late Col. Charles E. and Eileen (Caldwell) Woodford.

Susan was a very kind and generous person. She enjoyed a lifelong love of travel, cooking, gardening and sewing. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include daughters, Michele (Matthew) Koch of Columbia, Illinois, and Cynthia Higgerson of Belleville; brother, Paul (Donna) Woodford of Tucson, Arizona; sisters, Mary (Dennis) Honrud of Opheim, Montana, Charleen (Larry) Biester of Jackson and Cecilia (John) Boos of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Kristen (Tim) Kramper, Joshua Sullivan, Brittany Luster, Mckinze and Alyssa Goldman and Grace Higgerson; great-grandson, Joshua O'Dell Jr; stepmother, Lois (Leming) Woodford of Cape Girardeau; and two stepsisters, Kathleen (David) Bertrand of Cape Girardeau and Janet (Dave) Rigdon of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
