Ronald Gene "Ron" Huffman, 66, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, from a year-long battle with brain cancer at the Lutheran Home.

He was born May 25, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to Paul G. and Ella L. Chapman Huffman. He and Karen Meier were married Oct. 8, 2000, at Old McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Ron was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School, where he held offices in the FFA, including president. He was involved in his uncle, Freddie Ristig's, dairy farm since his early teens. He later purchased the farm and operated Midway Dairy Farms until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Huffman, and their son, William Angus Huffman, of the home; two sons from a previous marriage, Scott David Huffman and Christopher David Huffman of Florida; five siblings, Paul (Carla) Huffman and Gary Huffman of Oak Ridge, Dale (Mary) Woeltje of Jackson, Glenn (Tammy) Woeltje of Jackson, Tennessee, and Evelyn Huffman Skinner of Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Robin McQuay of Jackson and Beth (Bob) Armstrong of Kansas City, Missouri; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Huffman; and a brother-in-law, Jim Skinner.

The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Elder James E. Moore officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
