Judith A. Propst, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at The Lutheran Home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Cape Girardeau to Roscoe Russell and Georgia Lillian Davis Huckstep.

She started her working career on the farm, then later earned her CNA degree from Cape Girardeau Vo-Tech and worked for Saint Francis Medical Center. After retiring from Saint Francis, she did in-home care until she retired a second time at the age of 80. She also was a Mary Kay consultant for 32 years. She was a longtime member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville. In her later years, she had been attending Cape First.

Judith loved her faith and her family and she loved to go dancing.

She is survived by a son, Billy (Lynn) Propst of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sharon (Phil) Wellin of Gordonville and Carol (Marty) Steimle of New Hamburg, Missouri; four brothers, Joe and Jack Huckstep, both of Scott City, John Huckstep of Cape Girardeau and Jerrold (Leta) Huckstep of Bloomfield, Missouri; three sisters, Janet Jones and Joan Foeste, both of Cape Girardeau, and Margaret (Wayne) Wissmann of Jackson; six grandchildren, Jason (Carrie) Stroup, Clint (Amber) Wellin, Ryan (Lani) Steimle, Nick (Emily) Steimle, John Thompson and Tara (Cody) Bova; and seven great-grandchildren, Carson and Mollie Stroup, Emma, Hayden, Charlotte and Lucy Steimle and Johnathan Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jerry, Jim, Ronald Gene and an infant; a sister, Jane; and a grandchild, Cory.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Wellin officiating. Burial will be at Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Gordonville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Methodist Cemetery.
