Roy DeWayne Bryant

Roy DeWayne Bryant, 72, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born June 3, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to the late Roy C. and Mazie A. Estes Bryant. DeWayne and Debra A. Verble were married May 13, 1999, in Cape Girardeau.

DeWayne was an active member and involved in the choir and the House and Grounds Committee at Lynwood Baptist Church for many years. He also was active in the Shriners, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and the Sheriff's Posse in Scott County as a younger man. DeWayne retired in 1996 from Procter & Gamble as a sales representative and also owned car washes and storage units in Chaffee, Missouri, and Scott City.

Survivors include his wife, Debra of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Ashley A. Bryant of Atlanta; sons, R.D. "Korky" Bryant of Chaffee and Dustin Bryant of Oran, Missouri; brother, Jimmy Bryant of Florida; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church.
