Edna Kirn

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edna A. Kirn, 99, of Perryville died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at her home.

She was born June 7, 1918, in Perryville, daughter of Romanus and Anna Hoffman Zahner. She and Edward J. Kirn were married Nov. 16, 1943. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1988.

She had been a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, baking and cooking; and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and former member of St. Maurus Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality in Biehle, Missouri. She was a volunteer for 25 years with Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Jim) Linebarger of Orlando, Florida, Monica (Joe) Woytus of Warrenton, Missouri, and Melinda (Steve) Carron of Perryville; one son, Jay (Dawn) Kirn of Perryville; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Ali) Herriot, Eric (Tiffany) Linebarger, Matthew (Beth) Linebarger, Ryan (Janissa) Maasen, Kyle (Kate) Maasen, Angela (Anthony) DeWilde, Joel Carron, Amanda (Jordan) Green, Jason Carron, Casey (Michael) Ellis, Daniel (Alana) Kirn and Erik (Sam) Andrew; and 20 great-grandchildren, Jade, Dillon, Jacob, Colin, Caden, Madeleine, Lily, Harper, Brody, Liam, Journey, Rhegan, Olivia, Caleb, Jonah, Dessa, Eden, Parker, Clay and Weston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers and two sisters, Ivo Zahner, Sis Loberg, Linus Zahner, Zanaida Buchheit and Leroy Zahner.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials preferred to St. Vincent School or St. Maurus Parish.
