Colin Patrick Higgins, 16, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.

He was born Aug. 26, 2001, in St. Louis to Patrick Joseph and Amy Smith Higgins.

Colin was a student at Notre Dame Regional High School, where he was a member of the tennis team.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He liked spending time on his computer and going to the lake with his dad and brother.

Survivors include his father, Patrick J. Higgins of Jackson; his mother and stepfather, Amy J. and Timothy John Vollink of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Taylor Higgins, and a twin brother, Matthew Higgins, both of Cape Girardeau; grandparents, Thomas and Mary Higgins of Cape Girardeau, Larry and Jean Smith of Bonne Terre, Missouri, and Dennis and Kathy Vollink of Cape Girardeau; stepbrother, Conner Vollink, and stepsister, Adrianna Vollink, both of Burfordville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will begin at 8 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Bishop Edward M. Rice officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Colin Higgins Notre Dame Scholarship Fund.
