ADVANCE, Mo. -- Louise Long, 85, of Advance passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.
She was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Advance, the daughter of Charles and Lena Croy Revelle.
Louise was a 1949 graduate of Advance High School. She had been a florist for over 35 years. She began her career as a florist making beautiful arrangements when The Flower Box opened in 1966 in Advance. Louise became the owner of The Flower Box for many years and continued to work there for several years after her niece bought the business from her. Louise took pride in her work and was always professional. She also helped her husband, Benton, on their family farm.
Louise and Benton Long were united in marriage July 1, 1950, and he preceded her in death March 14, 2017.
Loving survivors include her son, Dennis (Marlene) Long of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Alexis Long and Jonathan, both of Cape Girardeau; and a great-granddaughter on the way, who will be named Myka Louise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Lois Vavak and Bernece Whitehead.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
