Ruby "Marie" Haupt, 101, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Tilsit, daughter of Charles H. and Ida Valle Daume Sr. She and Joe Edward Haupt were married Oct. 24, 1941. He passed away Oct. 18, 2004.

Marie was baptized and confirmed at St. James United Church of Christ in Tilsit.

She attended Jackson schools and later attended Southeast Missouri Business School.

She and her husband established Haupt Photography Studio in Jackson and took photos for more than 30 years before retiring in 1980.

Marie was a member of the gardening club, and it was obvious how much happiness she had while tending to her pride and joy.

Survivors include three siblings, Ruth Meier of Perryville, Missouri; Ethel Hall of Oro Valley, California, and Melbert Daume of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Amanda Daume; her loving husband; two brothers, Charles Daume and Edward Daume, and two sisters, Allegra Wendel and Margaret Puchbauer.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

Burial will be at St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tilsit.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
