Joseph Fuchs

PATTON, Mo. -- Joseph James Fuchs of Patton passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Cape Girardeau at the age of 82 years.

He was born Dec. 30, 1935, at Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Alice (Fulton) Fuchs.

Joe married Cathie Welshans on Dec. 16, 1972, at Champaign, Illinois.

He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and enjoyed farming and fishing.

Joe is survived by his wife, Cathie Fuchs; two sons, Joseph James (Karen) Fuchs III of Farmington, Missouri, and Michael Yates of Lebanon, Maine; a daughter, Rebecca Lynne Gruenke of Fredericktown, Missouri; two brothers, Bill Fuchs of Divernon, Illinois, and Bob Fuchs of Springfield, Illinois; a sister, Virginia (Bud) Witham of Decatur, Illinois; five grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Gruenke, Lyndan James Gruenke, Logan James Fuchs, Maggie Lynne Gruenke and Laycee Nacole Fuchs.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jimmy Fuchs.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the service time Saturday at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with William Welshans officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
