Roy Eugene "Jack" McLain, 90, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Jackson Manor.

He was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Roy Wilson and Laura G. Koeppel McLain. He and Celestia "Jewel" Liley were married July 3, 1948.

He was a member of Connection Point Church in Jackson.

Roy thoroughly loved his 35 years of employment as a machinist with McDonnell Douglas in St Louis, and often tinkered with automobiles at his home. After his retirement, he and his wife, Jewel, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their recreational vehicle.

Loving survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jewel McLain of Jackson; two daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Hertfelder of Moro, Illinois, and Cathy (Mark) Davis of O'Fallon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Michael (Christie) Lively, Andrea Anderson, Jennifer Hammock, Christine Wilkerson, Bradley (Meredith) Davis and Brett Davis; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Shipp of Cape Girardeau and Betty Melvin of Jackson; and four brothers, Fred (Dolly) McLain and Jesse (Donna) McLain of Jackson, James McLain of Wood River, Illinois, and John McLain of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Mary McLain; two brothers, Richard and Glenn McLain; and three sisters, Ruth Burchyett, Marie Hampton and Erma McDowell.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Connection Point Church.
