Charles Richard Bain, 78, of Scott City died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Fornfelt to Wilburn "S.W." and Mary Amanda Schwartz Bain. He was the production operator for John Deere Tractor in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, a lifetime member of AMVETS and a volunteer for the Scott County Historical Society. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1958 to 1960...

Charles Richard Bain, 78, of Scott City died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his home.

He was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Fornfelt to Wilburn "S.W." and Mary Amanda Schwartz Bain.

He was the production operator for John Deere Tractor in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, a lifetime member of AMVETS and a volunteer for the Scott County Historical Society. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1958 to 1960.

He is survived by two sons, Bradley Bain and Mark Bain of Nashville, Tennessee; three sisters, Margie Bain Stout of Kirkwood, Missouri, and Karen Bain and Mary Bain Rogers of Scott City; and three grandchildren, Briana, Dillon and Gabrielle.

There will be no services.
