Bernice A. Krahn, 84, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Friedheim, daughter of William Christian and Ada Louise Moeller Kester. She and William R. "Bill" Krahn were married Sept. 1, 1956. He passed away March 25, 2012...

Bernice A. Krahn, 84, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Friedheim, daughter of William Christian and Ada Louise Moeller Kester. She and William R. "Bill" Krahn were married Sept. 1, 1956. He passed away March 25, 2012.

Bernice was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. She was a 1951 graduate of Perryville (Missouri) High School.

In 1958, she and Bill moved to Jackson. They joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1960, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Quilting and Crafts for over 30 years. Bernice was a talented seamstress and truly enjoyed quilting, which was evident in her work. She also enjoyed the St. Paul Wednesday morning Bible study group.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Kristine (Mark) Kruse of Columbia, Missouri, and Kathleen (Tim) Sherman of Wentzville, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Dan, John, Jordan, Andrew, Megan and Madison.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
