PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Donald L. Herron, 82, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his home in Perryville.

He was born March 12, 1936, in Claryville, Missouri, son of John Winfield and Louella Behrle Herron. He and Betty Jo McAtee were married Nov. 1, 1958. She survives in Perryville.

Donald was a retired foreman for Sides Commercial Construction Co. in Jackson. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, American Legion Post 133 Booster and the Carpenters' Union.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, John Herron of Perryville, Pamela (Mark) Welker of St. Louis and Steven Herron of Perryville; a brother, Chalmer "Bud" (Margie) Herron of O'Fallon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Nichole (Josh) Mitchell, Chet (Ashley) Welker, Chelsea (Logan) Glueck, David Herron and Shara Herron; and four great-grandchildren, Camron Mitchell, Hayden Mitchell, Owen Mitchell and Genevieve Welker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Paul Herron.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, with rosary recited at 9 a.m.

He will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Crown Hospice or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
