The work zone on Lexington Avenue will be switched Monday to the eastbound lane, and the westbound lane will be reopened, according to a news release from the City of Cape Girardeau.

Traffic warning signs and detour signage will be set up at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Perryville Road, and will detour motorists to Cape Rock Drive and back up to Lexington Avenue. There will be no eastbound traffic allowed on Lexington Avenue between Sherwood Drive and Cape Rock Drive, the release stated.

The closure and detour will be in place until all concrete and seeding work along Lexington Avenue are complete, according to the release.
