John Darrel Lohmeier, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at his home. He was born April 21, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Bill and Virginia Inman Lohmeier. He and Mila Kay were married July 21, 1967, at Essex, Missouri. He was baptized June 28, 1942. He confessed his faith in the rite of Confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills on March 25, 1956. He graduated from College High in 1960...

John Darrel Lohmeier, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Bill and Virginia Inman Lohmeier. He and Mila Kay were married July 21, 1967, at Essex, Missouri.

He was baptized June 28, 1942. He confessed his faith in the rite of Confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills on March 25, 1956. He graduated from College High in 1960.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany.

He worked at KFVS for 36 years, retiring in 2002.

He was an avid collector of American Indian artifacts and knives. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and loved to hunt and fish.

He was a member of Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau and Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Mila Kay Lohmeier of Cape Girardeau; a son, Jimmy (Tracy) Lohmeier of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren, J.B. Lohmeier and Caroline Lohmeier.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church.
