SIKESTON, Mo. � Ruby Williams, 83, of Sikeston passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her family. Born June 12, 1935, in Malden, Missouri, to the late William Riley and Edith Nail Corn, she was a licensed practical nurse at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston until her retirement in 1998. On Sept. 26, 1961, she married Robert P. Williams, who preceded her in death Aug. 9, 1985...

SIKESTON, Mo. � Ruby Williams, 83, of Sikeston passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her family.

Born June 12, 1935, in Malden, Missouri, to the late William Riley and Edith Nail Corn, she was a licensed practical nurse at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston until her retirement in 1998. On Sept. 26, 1961, she married Robert P. Williams, who preceded her in death Aug. 9, 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Verlan Graham and Robert Williams, both of Oran, Missouri; and five daughters, Cathy Lewis-Stroeder of Cape Girardeau, Sheila A. Raper of Dahlonega, Georgia, Patricia Greer of Essex, Missouri, Melba Williams of Richmond, Virginia, and Rhonda Lynn Wallace of Sikeston. She raised along with her own children two grandchildren, Christy Lynn Williams and Brandy Ward. Also surviving are one brother, Don L. Corn of Malden; four sisters, Sybil Knight and Norma June Morris, both of Caruthersville, Missouri, Rosie Dove of Pevely, Missouri, and Mary Scroggin of Malden; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Randy Riley, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zack Graham, Terry Lewis, Bruce Savat Jr., Ryan Roberts, Robbie J. Roberts and Robert Joe Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Roberts, Michael Savat, Ryan Shirkey and Tommy Lambert.
