PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Daniel W. "Danny" Lukefahr, 67, of Perryville died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home.
He was born April 25, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, son of Leroy W. and Patsy Eileen Oehl Lukefahr.
Danny was a retired lead master aviation inspector, working at Sabreliner for 41 years. He enjoyed farming livestock and crops.
He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and served on the Administration Council for more than 20 years, presently as the chairman, and was a member of the choir. He was a member of American Legion Post 133.
Danny was the lead guitarist for his family band, The Highlanders, for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman aboard the USS AS-16 Howard W. Gilmore Commander Submarine Squadron 12 in Key West, Florida.
He loved farming, hunting, riding horses and being "PaPa" to Libby and Izzy.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Lukefahr of Orlando, Florida, and Anna (Patrick) Galeski of Perryville; a sister, Carol (Wayne) Taylor and a brother, Dean (Tammie) Lukefahr, both of Perryville; and two grandchildren, Libby Daniele Galeski and Isabel Eileen Galeski.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Lukefahr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Barron officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads United Methodist Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by the American Legion and Naval Team.
Memorials preferred to Crossroads United Methodist Church Building Fund.
