Roger K. Lane, 61, of Jackson, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home.

He was born Feb. 19, 1957, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Robert Lee and Carol Jean Lobsinger Lane. He and Ruth E. Wendel were married May 21, 1978, at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson. Two daughters were born to their union.

Roger was a graduate of Fox High School in Arnold, Missouri. He was employed 40 years for Ameren UE, most recently working at Rush Island Power Plant in Festus, Missouri.

Roger was a 14-year member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was an accomplished vocalist, participating in choir and performing solos and in cantatas.

Loving survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ruth Lane of Jackson; two daughters, Amanda (Garett) Dugan of Cape Girardeau and Kristin Lane of Jackson; two grandsons, William and Emmett Dugan of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Carol Lane of Arnold; three siblings, Deborah (Steven) Graham of Barnhart, Missouri, Marlene (William) Goveia of Normal, Illinois, and Jeffrey (Cyndi) Lane of St. Charles, Missouri; and many dear "work friends" at Ameren UE, to whom the family extends special thanks.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lane.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Revs. Mark Anderson and Gary Lane officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery in Tilsit.
