Mildred Bernice Conrad passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her home, with family by her side.

She was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Advance, Missouri, to John W. and Lena Miller Schatte. She and Harold "Sam" Conrad were married June 12, 1951, in Cape Girardeau. Two children were born in this union.

She was an excellent homemaker and cared for children over 30 years.

She was an active member of Maple United Methodist Church and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 3838 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, H. "Sam" Conrad; son, Michael (Vicki) Conrad of Pace, Florida; daughter, Julie (Alan) Phillips of Jackson, Tennessee; two grandsons, Nick Conrad of Bonne Terre, Missouri, and Hunter (Emily) Phillips of Franklin, Tennessee; two sisters, Nell (Dewayne) Younger of Scott City and Sue (Jim) Owens of Zalma, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother; brothers, Charles "Bud," Kenneth and Henry "Lucky"; a sister, Pearl Winchester; and a nephew, Johnny Winchester.

Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau or VFW Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary.

Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
