Patricia J. Taylor, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Mounds, Illinois, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 9, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, to George and Blanche Alice Caudle Britt. She and Carl Taylor were married June 10, 1947.
Patricia was a graduate of Mound City (Illinois) High School and lived in Olmsted, Illinois. She was a long-time employee of Sears, Roebuck and Co.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Patricia will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and canine companion, Lucy.
She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Jann) Taylor of Anna, Illinois, and Scott Taylor of Olathe, Kansas; a daughter, Nancy Randolph of McClure, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Steven, Kyle, Ethan, Megan, Bradley and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; a nephew, Dr. Fred Britt of Kentucky; a niece, Teresa Inman of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Joan Martin and Evelyn Taylor, both of Cape Girardeau; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Taylor; son, Stanley Taylor and infant son; and brother, George Britt Jr.
Family and friends may gather from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds.
Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS or the Southeast Missouri Humane Society.​
