PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alvin W. Kennon, 90, of Perryville died Monday, July 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born March 6, 1928, in Silver Lake, Missouri, son of Marcus and Bertha French Kennon. He and Dolores Cornman were married May 27, 1949. She preceded him in death May 16, 2015.

Alvin had been owner and operator of B & W Machine Shop in Fredericktown, Missouri. He was a member of Whitewater Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge in Farmington, Missouri. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He loved going to Branson with his wife, Dolores.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter, Tim (Vicky) Kennon of Festus, Missouri, Terry Stanfill of Barnhart, Missour, Alan (Brenda) Kennon of Perryville and Justin (Michelle) Kennon of Champaign, Illinois; a sister, Nevada Wilson of De Soto, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Diane Moore; a son-in-law, Dennis Stanfill; a granddaughter, Jennifer Kennon; two brothers, Eugene and Roger Kennon; and an infant sister, Lavada Kennon.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. today, and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray White officiating. Burial will be in the Whitewater Christian Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4282 and the Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred for the family use.
