VILLA RIDGE, Mo. -- Betty L. Parker, 85, of Villa Ridge passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her home. Betty was born May 29, 1933, in rural Pulaski, Illinois, daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Marie Denfip Miller. VILLA RIDGE, Mo. -- Betty L. Parker, 85, of Villa Ridge passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her home.

Betty was born May 29, 1933, in rural Pulaski, Illinois, daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Marie Denfip Miller.

Betty was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She retired from Shawnee Community College, where she was a cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Glenn Miller; three sisters, Wanda Scapino, Shannen Ledbetter and Leota Riddle; and a half sister, Lucille Mayberry.

Survivors include her husband, William J. Parker of Villa Ridge; two sons, Gary (Gail) Parker of Villa Ridge and Kim (Diane) Parker of Villa Ridge; a daughter, Sheila (Denny) Murphy of Villa Ridge; a sister, Rita Vines of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tammy Parker (Jim Woods) of Villa Ridge, Misty (Larry "Buster") Simmerman of Ullin, Illinois, Tina (Teddy) Leek of Villa Ridge and Brooke (Steve) Robertson of Lexington, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren; one great-stepgrandchild; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, where the funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Terry Kern officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski in memory of Betty L. Parker.
