BENTON, Mo. -- Marcella Christine Mack, 66, of Benton died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family, after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born July 24, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to Herman and Rita Klipfel Jansen.
She was a federal judicial assistant to the Honorable Judge Lewis Blanton for 22 years, retiring in 2014. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and the Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by her mother, Rita Jansen of Kelso, Missouri; two sons, David "Joey" (Carrie) Mack and Andrew (Shannon) Mack of Benton; a daughter, Suzanna (Caleb Greenley) Mack of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Laurel, Ella, Nicholas, Alexander, Gabriel, Rosalin and Vivian; three brothers, Raymond (June) Jansen of Jefferson City, Missouri, Harold (Kathy) Jansen of Bucyrus, Kansas, and B.J. (Doris) Jansen of Kelso; four sisters, Doris (Kevin Balsman) Dingerson of St. Charles, Missouri, Linda (Tim) Johnston and Mary (Jeff) Hency of Scott City and Janice (Dave) Meinert of St. Charles, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and the father of her children, David Mack.
She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Christopher Johnston.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Revs. Balaswamy Govindu, Michael Casteel and Normand Varone as con-celebrants. Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery.
