Charles Edwin "Charlie" Vickrey, 86, of Jackson passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1932, in Hannibal, Missouri, son of John and Helen Merrill Vickrey. He and Phyllis Litzelfelner were married April 12, 1951, at First Baptist Church in Jackson. She passed away April 3, 2015.

Charlie was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where he had served as a deacon for many years. He was a 1950 graduate of Jackson High School. He also served nine years in the U.S. Army National Guard. Charlie was a sales representative for Jim Wilson Co. in Cape Girardeau for 28 years. He enjoyed ministering to others through his music and poetry. Charlie was an avid golfer and fisherman and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Judy Vickrey and Jane (Jim) Butler of Cape Girardeau and Susan Romani of Perryville, Missouri; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Mike) Allen and Jamie (Gabe) Runyon; three great-grandsons, Lane Allen, Van Runyon and Max Runyon; and a sister, Nancy (Jim) Kinder of Ballwin, Missouri.

In addition to his wife of nearly 64 years, he was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Eugene Vickrey.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests contributions be made to Mac's Mission Animal Rescue.
