Looking ahead, all I can see are events and mostly sunshine. Today at Ivers Square Courtyard is your chance to grab some brews with your buds and chill out to some tunes.

If you've never attended the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo in Sikeston, Missouri, there's still time for that, too. Finish out the rodeo's 66th season right with a performance by Justin Moore and "Bullfighters Only" today -- featuring five rounds of bullfighting. Then on Saturday, country music legend Travis Tritt takes the stage for this year's grand finale.

Ready those lawn chairs and blankets because "Tunes at Twilight" is back for the fall -- with a special "Brews at Tunes" event beforehand. Come out early and enjoy some craft beer and cider samples from the Southeast Missouri Craft Beer Week participants while you're there, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday while enjoying a live performance from artist Baylor Wilson.

Old Town Cape events coordinator Emily Vines explained the event isn't necessarily new, but it has only taken place during Southeast Craft Beer Week.

"I'm anticipating a little bit larger of a turnout because we've got an event within an event happening," Vines said. "It's also the season opener. But with this additional free beer sampling, I'd imagine we would have a few people attending that aren't usually there."

And City Church on Broadway is still the designated rainout location, Vines said.

"Samples are still going to happen if it does rain on Friday," she said.

Vendors participating in Southeast Craft Beer Week has grown substantially, according to Vines, with this year including Minglewood Brewery, Cask Craft Spirits & Beer Lounge, Jackson Street BrewCo and Saxony Hills Brewery.

Beer sampling will be available Friday from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., but Vines said "we're going to let them continue to give out samples until they run out."

Performer for the evening Baylor Wilson won the Country Showcase at Belmont University in 2015 and caught the ear of producer Luke Wooten. She was then signed to a publishing deal with SeaGayle Music in Nashville. In 2017, Wilson started writing with up-and-coming producer Andrew Petroff, according to Wilson's website. Wilson's newest singles include "New Light" and "Can't Help But Break."

"Bullfighters Only" is returning for the third time to the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo this weekend, presenting five rounds of bullfighting, to be followed by country singers Justin Moore and Travis Tritt.

"Last year was only our second time hosting Bullfighters Only, but audience members of all ages waited in line for autographs and photos with their favorite bullfighters," rodeo chairman Ross Merideth said in a news release. "Several kids even came dressed in full bullfighter gear. We'd be crazy not to bring BFO back again."

Friday | Justin Moore

"With multiple chart-topping singles and an album that went Platinum not once, but twice, Justin Moore was a crowd-pleaser the last time he performed at the Rodeo in 2013," Merideth said in the news release. "His honest, down-to-earth personality meshes well with Southeast Missouri values, and that's why we asked him to return."

Moore has been active in the country music scene since 2008. He grew up in Poyen, Arkansas, before moving to Nashville in 2002. In 2011, he won two awards from the Inspirational Country Music Association, and in 2014, he won New Artist of the Year from the Academy of Country Music.

Saturday | Travis Tritt

"Travis Tritt is a country music legend. His iconic songs have blared from radios for decades," Merideth said in the release. "Having influenced and entertained millions, his concert is sure to be an unforgettable finale for the 2018 Rodeo season."

Tritt has won two Grammy Awards and four Country Music Association awards. In 1990, he won Billboard's Top New Male Artist award. Tritt's album "It's All About to Change" was certified Triple Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Saturday night is also Domestic Violence Awareness Night, and Merideth is asking all attendees to wear purple "as we recognize the House of Refuge and the work they do for women and families across the region."

A portion of Saturday's ticket sales will be donated to the House of Refuge.
