Anna Spooler, 87, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She resided at Monticello House in Jackson the past few years. She was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Leopold, Missouri, to Herman and Mary Holzum Beussink Sr. She and Lester B. Spooler were married March 27, 1951, in Leopold. They had been married 58 years when Lester passed away April 23, 2009...

Anna Spooler, 87, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She resided at Monticello House in Jackson the past few years.

She was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Leopold, Missouri, to Herman and Mary Holzum Beussink Sr. She and Lester B. Spooler were married March 27, 1951, in Leopold. They had been married 58 years when Lester passed away April 23, 2009.

Anna was a dedicated wife and mother. She was employed several years at the former Save-A-Lot in Jackson and then worked many years as a cook at Jackson R-2 Schools and the Jackson Senior Center. She was a longtime, active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Ann Sodality and the quilting group.

Loving survivors include five children, Kenny (Michelle) Spooler, Kevin Spooler, Darryl Spooler, Sherri Pourney and Susie (Michael) Smith, all of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Herman (Virgie) Beussink Jr., Betty Jane (the late Herman) Arnzen and Berniece (the late Jerome) Ziegler, all of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Carol Ann (the late Leonard �Slim�) Beussink and Clarice (the late Bernard) Beussink; many nieces and nephews; and friends at the Monticello House.

She was preceded in death by her husband and six siblings, Albert J. (Hilda) Beussink, Robert (Irma) Beussink Sr., Gilbert (Beulah) Beussink, Leonard �Slim� Beussink and Bernard Beussink and an infant sister, Theresa Beussink.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. St. Ann Sodality will lead a rosary at 7 p.m.

Father John Harth will celebrate Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Church.
