Billy Eugene Borgfield, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born June 17, 1931, in Jackson to Amil August and Hulda Marie Heider Borgfield. He and Judith Vance Koop were married March 28, 1987, in Cape Girardeau.

He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where he was the Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years and served on various boards. He was formerly a member at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where he was on the board of directors. Bill was owner/operator of A-1 Mechanical Heating Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal for more than 60 years.

He loved visiting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and telling them stories of his childhood. He took great joy spending time with his pets.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Borgfield of Cape Girardeau; two children born to the union with June Conrad Borgfield, one daughter, Connie J. (Rick) Dunn of Willard, Missouri, and one son, Stephen E. (Terri) Borgfield of West Orange, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Lorianne Dunn, Nathan (Heather) Dunn and Ryan Dunn; and three great-grandchildren born to Nathan and Heather, Bryce, Aubrey and Kayla Dunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley Borgfield; and four brothers, Leroy, Paul, Donald and Gary Borgfield.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Weston Wildauer officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel or Lutheran Family and Children's Services.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
