McCLURE, Ill. -- Everett "Butch" Mainer, 73, of McClure died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born June 19, 1945, in Anna, Illinois, the son of Lloyd H. and Minnie Cavaness Mainer. He married Barbara Bader on Nov. 18, 1982, in Rock Springs, Illinois.

Butch was retired from Shawnee Elementary School, where he worked many years as the custodian. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Butch was a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Anna, American Legion and Jonesboro (Illinois) Masonic Lodge No. 111.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Mainer of McClure; three sisters, Maudie (Thomas) Kaufman of Pekin, Illinois, and Erma Foster and Verna Mainer, both of Bedford, Indiana; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Oma Mainer, Frieda Mainer and Natalie Boyd; and a brother, Jimmy Lee Mainer.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in Lindsey Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 and Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111 or Lindsey Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
