Mary Ann Rheinecker Robertson, 84, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau.

Mary Ann was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Belleville, Illinois, to Wilma and Elmer Rheinecker.

She grew up in Belleville and graduated from Notre Dame Academy there. She attended Belleville Junior College, Illinois State University and Southeast Missouri State University. She was also employed at several banks in the St. Louis area, the accounting office at Scott Air Force Base and at State Farm Insurance Co. in Bloomington, Illinois. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1962, when her husband, Alfred Robertson, joined the faculty at Southeast Missouri State University.

Mary Ann was an active member of Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Southeast Missouri State University Faculty Dame and Girl Scouts when her daughters were young. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed reading, needlework and traveling. However, faith, family and friends were the priorities in her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Al Robertson, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Alana (Marc) Moehlman of Grayling, Michigan, and Beth (Chad) Potokar of Pueblo West, Colorado; and three grandchildren, Lauren (Jake) Bertuglia, David Lichliter and Olivia Potokar, all of Pueblo West. She is also survived by a brother, Elmer (the late Janet) Rheinecker of Toledo, Ohio, and a sister, Betty (Chuck) Shafer of Rockford, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with parish prayers at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Old St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.

Donations may be made to Old St. Vincent's Church or to the National Ataxia Foundation.
