Harold A. Moore, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center, following a sudden and strong case of the flu and pneumonia, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Cape Girardeau to Fred and Francis Diamond Moore. On May 2, 1959, he and Sharon K. Rose were married in Scott City. Harold A. Moore, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center, following a sudden and strong case of the flu and pneumonia, with his family by his side.

He was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Cape Girardeau to Fred and Francis Diamond Moore. On May 2, 1959, he and Sharon K. Rose were married in Scott City. Together, they spent 43 years raising a loving family and creating a lifetime of memories.

He retired from Procter & Gamble following 32 years of dedicated employment. He also worked many years at Harris Motor Co. and Wescoat Motors.

He was a strong-willed, hardworking man who loved crappie fishing, hunting, shooting matches, western bluegrass music, mechanics, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his son, Harold J. (Robin) Moore; two daughters, Darlene (Steve) Barnhart and Barbara (Philip) Smith; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Melissa) Barnhart, Sara Barnhart, Jordan (Sarah) Barnhart, Ryan (Amanda) Moore, Blake (Monica) Moore, Kylie Smith and Parker Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harry, Tony, Tim, Tom and John Moore; and four sisters, Pam Powless, Edith Kagy, Frances Leimer and Janet Seib.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Nollie and Fred Moore; a sister, Theda Johnson; and two infant siblings.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri Department of Conservation.
