Lester Lawrence Seyer, 87, of Oak Ridge passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to Andrew and Coletta Westrich Seyer. He and Semina Frances Kluesner were married April 27, 1963, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Missouri.

Lester was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, and has been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson many years.

He farmed near Oak Ridge and also had worked at Fruitland Livestock Barn and Gilster-Mary Lee in Perryville, Missouri.

Lester enjoyed hunting (especially coon hunting), playing cards, dancing and having family around.

Loving survivors include his wife of 55 years, Semina; six children, Karen (Van) Volz of Friedheim, Susan (Rusty) Moore of Oak Ridge, Ruth (David) Monier of Perryville, Kenny (Sherry) Seyer, Doug (Ashley) Seyer and Jeff (April) Seyer, all of Oak Ridge; 11 grandchildren, Ashley Seyer and friend Darren Hahs, Cynthia (Burt) Hahs, Drew Young, Macy (Jake) Westrich, Brooke Monier and friend Dylan Richardet, Tyler Monier, Brent Seyer, Alex Seyer, Blake Monier, Camren Volz and Brady Seyer; and four great-grandchildren, Konnor Hobeck, Adilyn Hotop, Maren Westrich and Everett Hahs.

Also surviving are two sisters, JoAnn (Raymond) Clements of Jackson and Rose Pair of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles (Millie) Seyer of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Daniel; his infant twin brother, Chester Seyer; two brothers, Andrew Seyer Jr. and Elmer Seyer; and three sisters, Viola Kirchdoerfer, Lavada Clements and Bernice Koehler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Parish prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with Father John Harth officiating. Interment will be in Goshen Cemetery near Oak Ridge.

The family suggests contributions be made to Grace Reliant of Jackson, Crown Hospice or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
