Clydella "Della" Gurney, 77, of Cape Girardeau was taken to her heavenly home Friday, April 19, 2019, having just surpassed her 77th birthday.

She was born April 15, 1942, in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, to Alfred Leonard and Evelyn Verl Traylor Booze. They raised her and her siblings with love and discipline in the cotton fields of Oklahoma. She was proud of her roots and the strength it instilled in her. Once she found her true love, Duane Gurney, she spent many years in the warmth of Texas working hard and raising their three sons. A success she claimed as three amazing men came of her boys. After Duane passed away. She moved a bit to stay close to family as she knew the value of having loved ones near, yet also treasured her independence.

Over the years, Della enjoyed church, golf, reading, Diet Coke, lots of laughter and quilting.

She was a beautiful lady, a caring sibling, loving wife, nurturing mother, attentive Neena and Grandma, and everything else an admirable, treasured woman should be. Those who knew her were extremely blessed. You, Della, will forever be loved and missed.

Survivors include her two sons, Jay Leonard (Melinda May) Gurney of Palmer, Alaska, and Jeffrey Paul (Janet) Gurney of Maysville, Kentucky; two sisters, LaJuana (James) Stone of Lewisville, Texas, and Joyce (Roger) Hofer of Hillsboro, Kansas; two brothers, Jerry Booze of Dallas and Glenn (Rena) Booze of Thomas, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
