PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kimberly Kaye Launius, 54, of Perryville and formerly of Jackson, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at her home.

She was born Aug. 2, 1964, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Nelson and Carol Reynolds Morton. She and Darren Launius were married Nov. 14, 1998.

Kimberly was a 1982 graduate of Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, Illinois. In 1984, she moved to Jackson and attended Cape Cosmetology School, graduating in 1985. Once she was graced with children, Kimberly decided to stay at home and be a career mother and homemaker. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. In 2003, Darren suffered an accident, requiring Kimberly to become his full-time caregiver.

In addition to her husband of 20 years, Darren Launius of Perryville, loving survivors include her father, Nelson Morton of Kampsville, Illinois; son, Dustin Sebastian of Perryville; two daughters, Jessica (Steven) Cook and Brittney Emery of Perryville; a stepdaughter, Brandi Williams of East Prairie, Missouri; six grandchildren, Skyler, Bailey, Emma, Addison, Alyssa and Abigail; and sister, Terri (Dennis) Brown of Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

The family suggests contributions be made to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America or American Heart Association/Stroke Association.
