THEBES, Ill. -- Elaine Leimbach, 67, of Thebes died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Duck Creek, Missouri, to Lee and Bertha Miller Burlbaugh. She and Allen Leimbach were married July 14, 1973.

Elaine was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

She was a sewing machine operator for 20 years at Thorngate.

She loved gardening, going to yard sales, reading, mushroom hunting and playing cards, and she loved her grandkids.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Leimbach of Thebes; mother, Bertha Paul of Cape Girardeau; one son, Douglas Leimbach of Oran, Missouri; stepson, Bradley Leimbach of Thebes; two stepdaughters, Kathryn (Lester) Wilfong of Marquand, Missouri, and Gena (Terry) Paschall of Paducah, Kentucky; one brother, James Conrad Burlbaugh of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Shelby Smith, Amanda Schaefer, Christian Leimbach, Coley Leimbach, Kassidy Leimbach, Jessi Wilfong and Dalton Leimbach; and one great-grandchild, Jude Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father; two sisters, Judy Pender and Kathie Burlbaugh; and a stepson, Jeffrey Leimbach.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Burns officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
