MARQUAND, Mo. -- On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, Marilyn Ruth Bollinger was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 83.

She was born May 21, 1936, in DeKalb County, Illinois, daughter of John Everette and Christina Moyer Marshall. She and Tom Lee Bollinger were united in marriage Sept. 4, 1955.

She graduated from DeKalb High School and attended Northern Illinois University, studying mathematics. She worked as a accounting clerk and bookkeeper.

Marilyn was a member of the Friendly Homemakers, Country Friends and the Liberty Congregational Methodist Church.

She was an avid reader and loved to research family history. She leaves behind a library of Bollinger family genealogy. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile and kind and compassionate spirit.

She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Tom Bollinger; children, David Bollinger of Imperial Missouri, Jay Bollinger of Phoenix, Tom Bollinger Jr. of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Robert Bollinger of Wildwood, Missouri; brother, Terry Marshall of Lawrence, Kansas; sisters, Sharon Shohfi of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Jill Gee of Lee, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Congregational Methodist Church in Marquand.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Jamie Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Marilyn requested donations be made to the cemetery fund at Liberty Methodist Church.

Liley Funeral Home is providing the funeral arrangements.
