KELSO, Mo. — Elizabeth Marie “Betty” Burger, 85, of Kelso passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 19, 1934, in Old Appleton, the daughter of Theodore R. and Frieda Rose Wucher Schott. She married Norman J. Burger on Nov. 25, 1954, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death July 21, 1994.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and its St. Ann’s Sodality.
She is survived by a son, Mike Burger of Paducah, Kentucky; a daughter, Debbie (Bob) Gawf of Bonne Terre, Missouri; three brothers, Charles Schott of Cape Girardeau, Edgar Schott of St. Louis and Richard “Buck” Schott of Draffenville, Kentucky.
She was also preceded by a daughter, Darlene VenGennip on March 17, 1998, and a sister, Patricia Welter.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Normand Varone as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
