Russell Junior Stokely, 85, of Perryville, Missouri, died Friday, July 19, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 3, 1934, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, to Russell Albert and Evelyn Mary Hagan Stokely. He and Caralyn Mary Gisi were married June 29, 1957, at Church of Assumption in Perryville.
He served in the Army and was a dredge boat engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, Caralyn Mary Stokely of Perryville; daughter, Brenda Marie Davis of Perryville; sister, Norma Lee Collins of Perryville; three grandchildren, Chase (Logan) Davis, Natalie (Nicholas) Friese and Austin (Emily) Davis; five great-grandchildren, Connor and Cooper McMillian and Callie, Cayden and Vayda Friese.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Charles Stokely; five sisters, Lena Posey, Joan Reed, Laura Jean Corse, Marleen Cooksey and June Wages; and a brother, Billy Ray Stokely.
There will be no visitation.
A private service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul School in Perryville.
