Robert Frederick Toma Sr., 103, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1915, in St. Louis to Walter E. and Lillie Elizabeth Speaker Toma. Robert and Beulah Standfuss were married May 30, 1938. Three children were born to their union, and they had been married 66 years when Beulah passed away Oct. 14, 2004. Robert married Wanda Meloy on Sept. 24, 2005. She survives.
He was a graduate of Cleveland High School in St. Louis.
Robert worked 45 years for National Lead Co. in South St. Louis, retiring as superintendent. He then worked four years for Monsanto.
He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He and Wanda resided at Saxony Village in Cape Girardeau the past six years.
Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 14 years, Wanda Meloy Toma of Cape Girardeau; three children, Diana Wickham of Gladstone, Missouri, Robert F. (Nancy) Toma Jr. of Ocala, Florida, and Timothy (Patty) Toma of Wildwood, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kim Pearcy, Robin Bruno, Julie Warfield and Charles Toma; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah; two brothers; a sister; and his parents.
The Rev. Mark Anderson will officiate a memorial service at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Lutheran Home Chapel.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor's choice of church or charity.
