Minnie Rose Stearns, 85, of Jackson died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 12, 1934, in Jackson to August Henry and Frieda Minnie Springer Sievers. She and Virgil "Bud" Stearns were married April 22, 1950, in Jackson. He died Jan. 24, 1970.

Minnie was employed by the former Litz Brothers Poultry Factory in Jackson. She also babysat for many children for a number of years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.

Survivors include her two daughters, Saundra (Larry) Young and Debra (Jerry) Seabaugh, both of Jackson; three sons, Scott (Kim) Stearns of Cape Girardeau, Terry Stearns of Whitesboro, Texas, and Gary Stearns of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, Donna Young, Jeff Seabaugh, Jennifer Seabaugh, Melissa (Shane) Breidenstein, Eric (Lisa) Seabaugh, Michael (Erin) Stearns and Tonya, Nathan, Matthew, Aaron and Nicholas Stearns; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Young, Kristin Seabaugh, Steven Bridenstein, Jacob and Aiden Stearns and Kacey and Kaylen Woods; a sister, Marie Clodfelter of Jackson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Georgia) Stearns, Richard (Brenda) Stearns, Carma Jean (Charles) Newell, Earlene Langston, Linda (Jerry) Morton, Mary James, John Clippard and Patsy Wendel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Martin Sievers; daughter-in-law, Joyce Stearns; brother and sisters-in-law, Lawrence Clodfelter, Fred and Rosemary Stearns, Clarence Langston, Bud James and Sue Clippard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Riley officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Jackson.
