Paul Dean Becker, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Evansville, Illinois, to Festus W. and Elizabeth Ann Labruyere Becker.

He and Mary Unverferth were married Dec. 24, 1964, at Perryville, Missouri.

He was a 1954 graduate of Sparta High School in Sparta, Illinois.

He served his country in the U.S. Army, starting in 1956. He then joined the Air Force active reserves in 1957. In 1972, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and in 1973, enlisted in the Navy Reserve and served 25 years. Paul retired from civilian life as a manufacturing representative and owner of Becker Sales Co. in Perryville.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Becker of Perryville; son, Gerard (Melodie) Becker of Saint Charles, Missouri; three sisters, Charlotte Hendrickson, Mary McMillan and Maedel Renner; two brothers, Boniface and Edwin Becker; and grandchild, Ryan Becker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Becker.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

A military committal service will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Fred Burgard officiating at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, to help defray funeral expenses.
